Spring is well underway and April 2025 brought plenty of announcements from Sandbox clients. Here’s a quick overview of all the major stories we shared over the past few weeks ICYMI!

New Game Releases

• Tape 2 of DON’T NOD’s Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is now available and critics are raving! Discover the epic conclusion of the story of Swann and her friends in this gripping narrative adventure from the original creators of Life is Strange.
• That’s not all from DON’T NOD! Koira, the wholesome adventure game developed by Studio Tolima and published by DON’T NOD, launched on Steam and PS5 to an 81 on Metacritic! Play as a lost forest spirit and befriend an adorable puppy companion while exploring an enchanted forest, solving puzzles together, and trying to make it to safety.
• RTS action is back, baby! 3D Realms’ Tempest Rising released earlier this month on Steam to stellar reviews. Dive into two single-player story campaigns with two asymmetric factions plus ranked multiplayer in this deep strategic experience that calls back to RTS classics like Command & Conquer!
• ESDigital Games and Storm in a Teacup just released Steel Seed, the new action-adventure game for PC, PS5 and XSX! Master stealth, parkour and combat in a dark sci-fi world from the team that brought you Close to the Sun.
• Big Buck Hunter: Ultimate Trophy is out now on consoles and PC, bringing the series’ classic arcade action home with more than THREE TIMES the content of the last console offering.
• The mixed reality and VR real-time strategy game Crystal Commanders launched on Meta Quest. Jump into this unique tactical experience that transforms your living room into an RTS campaign!

New Game Reveals

• tinyBuild revealed SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed at the Triple-i Initiative, bringing back the iconic high-speed platformer with competitive action for up to eight players. SpeedRunners 2 lands on Steam in 2025 and consoles in 2026.
• CRITICAL REFLEX announced it’s publishing TALLBOYS’ Militsioner, a Kafkaesque immersive sim about escaping a city for a crime you didn’t commit – all while a Giant Policeman watches overhead! The news came with a new extended gameplay trailer highlighting the game’s reactive world and mechanics.

Upcoming Game Releases

• Rooftops & Alleys, the hit 3D parkour platformer that’s like Tony Hawk meets Mirror’s Edge, is leaving Steam Early Access and coming to consoles after selling over 150,000 units already! The game’s 1.0 release comes to Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on June 17.
• CRITICAL REFLEX’s next horror sensation, No, I’m not a Human, revealed its fall 2025 release window on Steam during the Triple-i Initiative – with PS5 and XSX versions also now in development!
• The Lovecraftian horror sim Static Dread announced its August 7, 2025, release date on Steam. Become a lighthouse keeper and guide ships to safety while fending off the shadows in this gripping game that’s like a cosmic horror Papers, Please!

New Game Updates

• Larian released Baldur’s Gate 3’s last major update, Patch 8, bringing with it 12 totally new subclasses, photo mode, crossplay and more!
• Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 released its Trygon update for PC, PS5 and XSX, including a new PvE mission featuring the terrifying Trygon boss, as well as a new weapon, cosmetic DLC, Prestige Ranks and more.
• SnowRunner’s Season 15: Oil & Dirt launched on PC and consoles, allowing players to take on new vehicular challenges in the vast new region of Quebec!
• Focus Entertainment released free new game updates for both the WW1 FPS Isonzo and the modern military action game Insurgency: Sandstorm, including a new map and weapons for each game.
• World War Z received a free Community Challenge update, including new tests of skill and rewards on PC, PlayStation & Xbox. The game also officially launched on Amazon Luna!

New Trailers

• During the Galaxies Showcase, 3D Realms released a new gameplay trailer for Painkiller, the new shooter based on the cult-classic action franchise. Check out the arsenal of punishing weapons that await you this fall on PC, PS5 and XSX!
• Saber Interactive had a new gameplay trailer for The Knightling at the Galaxies Showcase, as well! This colorful fantasy action-adventure game about a little hero with a big shield drops on PC and consoles on August 28.
• Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive released a new co-op trailer for RoadCraft, the heavy machinery vehicle and construction sim coming to PC, PS5 and XSX on May 20. This new video shows off a slice of the fun and challenge you can get into while playing with friends in cross-platform multiplayer for up to four players.
