What We’re Playing: Spring 2025

We asked team Sandbox what they’ve been playing in Spring 2025, as this year has already been stacked with exciting new game releases!

Team Sandbox Spring 2025 Games

Tyler – Overwatch 2 has come back into my gaming rotation pretty fiercely lately, as the perks have provided a pretty unique shakeup to the game. Definitely missing my boy Junkrat (who has terrible perks) but Ive been going crazy on Bastion and Rammatra lately, so I can’t complain.

I just wrapped up Split Fiction as well – such an absolute delight. Hazelight’s sense of humor is always a joy, and this game pretty easily has some of their most jaw-dropping set piece moments yet. Excited for whatever comes next from this wild, wild studio.

Tony – Monster Hunter Wilds has a chokehold on my life right now. I am hunting monsters, and repurposing their flesh into weaponry that I can use to hunt other monsters with. So far I have a collection of bows and am well on my way to starting on a really big and scary hammer for bashing.

Val – I’m currently playing way too much Balatro as I try collecting all the Jokers and getting gold streaks for each deck. I will NOT try to get the achievement where you’ve played each individual Joker at the gold streak, because Rob did that, and I think it may have ruined his life.

Elena – Between chasing the perfect couch co-op experience and poking around Steam Next Fest, I’ve been on a “trying new games” kick. Titles include Is This Seat Taken, Golf With Your Friends, Cat Quest 2, Untitled Goose Game, and my continued remote-friend campaigns of Borderlands 3 and Baldur’s Gate 3.

Joe – Monster Hunter Wilds currently taking over everything. Very close to beating the final HR monster and can fully start the end game grind. Did everything with the Switch Axe this time around, but ready to hop into other weapons. The sword and shield is getting a lot of buzz.

Tim – You know, what a time to revisit Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, a very good-looking game from HUMAN ARTISTS with a fantastic lead performance by a HUMAN ACTOR with a compelling HUMAN-WRITTEN STORY which frames tech CEOs in exactly the light in which they deserve to be remembered by whatever history will be.

Dan – I recently picked up the mobile version of Wingspan, the strategy board game where you build a wildlife preserve by collecting bird cards across three habitats. I’ve always loved the board game and have become completely addicted to the mobile version. The myriad of viable strategies keep the gameplay exciting, and the ability to pause and play at your own pace make it a great way to kill time while riding the train or bus.
