May 2025: Sandbox News Roundup

With the summer gaming bonanza about to begin, May delivered a ton of announcements from Sandbox clients – including a FULL SHOWCASE with the 2025 tinyBuild Connect. Here’s a quick overview of all the stories we shared over the past few weeks ICYMI!

New Game Releases

  • RoadCraft, the next-gen construction sim from Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive, launched to critical acclaim on PC, PS5 and XSX. Don’t miss this game’s awesome four-player co-op and nostalgic “sandbox memories” trailer!
  • Graffiti Games, the publisher that brought you Turnip Boy Robs a Bank, released the monster-taming, retro-inspired RPG Creature Keeper on Steam! The game is also in development for Nintendo Switch.

New Game Reveals

  • Dice. Decks. DOG. DOG WITCH, a quirky new dice-powered, deckbuilding roguelike, was revealed by indie publisher Mystic Forge. Become the legendary Dog Witch on this rollicking adventure launching later this year on Steam – bark bark!
  • Polden Publishing has announced Bus Flipper Simulator, a renovation sim for old buses and RVs that’s like House Flipper on wheels. Check out the debut demo on Steam now and turn old hunks of junk into cozy works of art!
  • Go fishing…with GUNS! Fish Hunters was revealed by Polden Publishing during the OTK Games Expo, introducing players to an all-new chaotic way to fish with friends. Jump into the demo now on Steam!
  • Saber Interactive announced World War Z VR, a totally new game that captures the thrill and terror of the original WWZ. The swarms are back for more on August 12 on Meta Quest and SteamVR!

tinyBuild Connect 2025

  • The new tinyBuild Connect was packed with announcements, including brand-new games, release dates, playtests, demos, and more! Highlights from the show include:
    • The highly anticipated action-strategy game Kingmakers launches into Steam Early Access on October 8.
    • Hello Neighbor 3 received a new gameplay trailer and public playtest available now on Steam.
    • SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed revealed a brand-new 64-player tournament mode. Keep your eyes peeled for the game’s Steam playtest this summer!
    • tinyBuild announced publishing partnerships for two new upcoming titles: Hozy, a decorating game about transforming abandoned spaces into cozy havens, and Trainfort, a co-op open-world survival crafting game where you play as dwarf nomads building a mobile base on moving steam engines.
    • A July release for the roguelike kingdom builder The King is Watching; the Steam 1.0 launch of the strategic roguelite mining game Drill Core on July 17 (also in development for Nintendo Switch); and console announcements for the open-world survival game DUCKSIDE and the diesel-punk mech game SAND.

New Game Updates

  • Tuxedo Labs revealed a whole new world of heisting on the way soon in Teardown’s next campaign expansion DLC: “The Greenwash Gambit.” Steal in SPACE on June 24 on PC, PS5 & XSX.
  • During the Warhammer Skulls festival, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 unveiled Siege Mode – arriving in a free June 26 update. Jump into an endless new PvE game mode against Chaos and Tyranid forces.
  • Albion Online has revealed the new “Abyssal Depths” update will launch on June 30, featuring a new PvP-focused dungeon, improved early-game experience and more.
  • Aspyr announced that a huge update is coming to the Android version of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI on June 12, bringing the game to parity with other platforms, including new units, maps and game modes. The “New Frontier Pass” and “Leader Pass” expansions will also be available to purchase.
  • Aspyr also released the Star Wars™: Grand Collection on Nintendo Switch, PS5 and PS4 – a new bundle featuring nine Star Wars titles (six on PlayStation).

New Trailers

  • Watch a new dev diary for the upcoming NASCAR 25 showcasing the sights and sounds of race day!
  • 3D Realms released a new accolades trailer and the final dev diary for Tempest Rising, the hit modern RTS title inspired by the glory days of ‘90s and 2000s gaming.
  • Rooftops & Alleys: The Parkour Game showcased a new gameplay trailer ahead of its June 17 release into 1.0 on PC, PS5, XSX and Nintendo Switch.
  • The upcoming MMOFPS PIONER released a new action-packed gameplay trailer at the OTK Games Expo. News about the game’s open beta is coming soon!
