It’s been a crazy year at Sandbox (just like everywhere else) and it’s been some time since we shared an update on the blog. We’ve been fortunate to stay busy while working on some exciting
projects, but the biggest update here is that we have a newcomer to Team Sandbox! DJ interned with us for a year, and is now a full-time PR/Influencer Coordinator; we’re all super excited to have her on board!
This summer’s big title was Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, which we were fortunate enough to manage the influencer campaign for. The game’s success was unprecedented, peaking at over 700,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch and recording 6.2 billion minutes watched in August alone, and the fun’s just getting started as Fall Guys Season 2 gets underway!
One of the weirdest parts of this year for us is the lack of trade shows, which has made remote demos more important than ever. Read some hands-on impressions of Systemic Reaction’s Second Extinction on PC Gamer and IGN, and check out Raw Fury’s The Signifier on PC Invasion and The Escapist.
September Launches
Raw Fury’s rogue-lite, turn-based, tactical RPG, Star Renegades launched on PC September 8. Check out reviews from Game Informer and GameSpot, as well as YouTube videos from SplatterCatGaming and ChristopherOdd!
Focus Home Interactive had a pair of tactical RPG launches, with Necromunda: Underhive Wars launching on PC and consoles on September 8 (TechRaptor) and Othercide launching on Nintendo Switch on September 10 (GameSpot).
Mastiff’s 3D brawler Fight Crab launched on Nintendo Switch on September 15. Read more about the crab battler in Destructoid’s review!
Crysis Remastered, the remake of Crytek’s classic first-person shooter, launched on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 18. See The Digital Fix’s thoughts on the remaster!
